About Volunteer2

Volunteer2 has been helping nonprofits
for
over nine years and our first client is still a client today.
Our volunteer software started out as a volunteer project where some custom software was going to be written and offered for free to a local hospice that was founded by Volunteer2’s president.
Although seemingly a good idea at the time, it became quickly apparent that the donation model would have resulted in a system that was drastically far from its potential from the start and would fall further behind as technologies evolved. Given the combination of predictions of how the internet would grow to become intertwined in our lives and how it would help nonprofits coordinate the work of its volunteers in new ways, this would-be volunteer project was transformed into the genesis of Volunteer2.

Our mission is to help you lead your volunteers.

We strive to do this in a variety of ways, but our principle focus is providing you with volunteer management software that combines today’s technology with a human touch. We recognize that today’s technologies are opening new doors of efficiency for leaders of volunteers and new opportunities for engagement for volunteers themselves. The human touch represents our philosophy for how we will support you in your transition to our software and in the future, our understanding that great volunteer management is a combination of efficient management practices and a relationship with volunteers, and lastly, our recognition that volunteers have preferences related to how they manage their time and commitments.
We are always looking for creative ways that we can give back, to the volunteer sector, to a global cause and to something local. In the volunteer sector, a portion of our revenues are used to create and manage OurSharedResources.com, a free website that facilitates peer to peer sharing of volunteer management resources. Locally we provide support two summer festivals, a Rotary club, and a social service organisation.
We try to help you as a volunteer manager in other ways as well. Our monthly newsletter offers thoughts on various volunteer management issues. Through twitter we pass on news and advice that we find that could have an impact on your volunteer program. Our company president, Tony Goodrow, blogs about topics related to volunteer management and presents conference workshops. We are constantly asking the question, “How can we help?”.
We know that if we can truly help you succeed, we’ll succeed.
